Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune — an Institute of National Importance shaping engineers, innovators and leaders since 2016.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune (IIIT Pune) was established in 2016 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on a Not-for-Profit Public–Private Partnership (N-PPP) model. The Institute is recognised as an Institute of National Importance through the IIIT (PPP) Act, 2017.
"Leading Technology, Leveraging Technology"
The Institute operates from a sweeping 100-acre permanent campus in Maval, Pune, mentored by the COEP Technological University (formerly College of Engineering Pune). Across its two engineering disciplines — Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering — IIITP currently educates 1500+ students under the guidance of 40+ faculty members.
The mission of the Institute is to nurture the next generation of engineers and researchers with academic rigour, ethical depth and an enduring spirit of inquiry — equipping them to contribute to India's rise as a global technology and knowledge leader.
What defines IIITP
Three commitments anchor everything we do: rigour — through a curriculum benchmarked against global IIIT and IIT standards; community — through small cohorts, residential campus living and direct faculty access; and impact — through industry-aligned research, internships and entrepreneurship.
